Research focus: Studies are focused to the synthesis of novel phosphorus-containing compounds - polymers, oligomers and monomers with specific properties, such as biodegradability, biocompatibility, low toxicity, water solubility, amphiphilicity, high reactivity and thermal stability, as well as to their application in pharmacy, medicine, industry, agriculture, and everyday-life. Diesters of H-phosphonic acid are industrially available compounds with variety of reactivity, due to the two alkoxy or aryloxy and P-H groups. They are used as starting monomers of the synthesis of important classes of phosphorus-containing compounds: poly(alkylene H-phosphinate(s; amphiphilic poly(alkylalkylene phosphate)s; water soluble poly(hydroxyalkylene phosphate)s; poly(alkylene amidophosphate)s; poly(alkylalkylene phosphonate)s; poly(alkylene phosphite)s; α-aminophosphonic acids; α-hydroxyalkylphosphonates; bisphosphonates.
