The Colloquium is a permanent auxiliary body attached to the Scientific Council, and its primary function is to organize open scientific discussions and talks on current topics relevant to the polymer community in Bulgaria. The Colloquium monitors the career development of scientists working in the field of polymers at the Institute of Polymers, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (IP-BAS), as well as in related academic institutions.
During the Colloquium, scientific developments of researchers and doctoral students are discussed, along with reports on their activities, as well as opinions on priorities and new directions in polymer science and related fields. Distinguished scholars from the country and abroad deliver lectures on their current achievements in the field of polymers, new materials, nanotechnologies, and other scientific areas.
All members of the Colloquium are representatives of the academic community at IP-BAS, including the scientific staff, specialized researchers with higher education, and doctoral students. The current chairperson of the Colloquium was elected by the decision of the Scientific Council on December 13, 2022, for a term of four years.
